Foundational Fitness
Some people think that strength and power are the same thing. Ask a student of Xin Yi and they will distinguish between the two due to the nature of power and the limits of strength.
A lot of people think they want power or martial skills, but it is common for them to discover that even just some basic fitness will help them feel better and more confident about themselves, and the quest for inner exploration through meditation and the discipline required to develop internal power is abandoned.
The foundational fitness program is inspired by the likes of Charles Atlas, Maxick, Charles Bronson, and Harry Wong along with a few other touches to make it a good practice in of itself or as a groundwork to prepare for the demands of studying Xin Yi and the discipline required.
The key difference between the Xin Yi Foundational Fitness program and most fitness regiments is the focus on feeling good rather than looking good, though looking good can also be a side effect of the practice most certainly.
Through the use of bodyweight exercises that use no more than the floor, walls, chairs, and towels, the program involves stretching, calisthenics, isometrics, and some cardio workouts that can be done in 10-15 minutes or for hours if you so choose. After several months of practicing this program, students can decide if they are ready to challenge themselves further and pursue the internal arts through Xin Yi. This is not a pre-requisite for new students to learn Xin Yi, but is a recommended option for those who feel they need extra preparation.
THE FOUNDATIONAL FITNESS PROGRAM IS CURRENTLY BEING REVISED INTO AN E-BOOK FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO PRACTICE ON THEIR OWN FIRST, SO PLEASE WAIT FOR UPDATES FOR WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE.
